On April 27th, 2011 FCHS Drama presented its 2011 CAPPIES Entry, No Crime Like the Present.  The play by Bill Gleason serves as a caricature of popular Film Noir era 'Whodunit' shows.  It combines the classic melodramatic acting technique and all the audio and visual effects you'd expect, while poking enormous fun at the genre at the same time.  As for the crime in Crime, it concerns one Cassandra Dumont (Melanie Reuter), a small-time celebrity tv anchor is murdered during a newscast at  local  television station, KDOA.  Mavis Davis (Betsy Ryan/Moriah Dreisbach), a female private eye, is hired to work on the case.  With the assistance of police detective and interrogation specialist 'No Slack' Slack (Boris Mewborn), they go through a list of suspects until finally the case is solved with a series of unpredictable twists and turns that keeps you guessing until the truth is at last revealed. 

The award winners will be announced at the 13th Annual CAPPIES Gala at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts at 7:00 pm on June 10th, 2012.
